Camborne is located in the county of Cornwall, which is in the far southwest of England. It is one if the larger towns in Cornwall, and has a population of approximately 20,000. Cornwall is a very popular Holiday destination and cater for many visitors from all around the world each year, it is specially noted for it's coastline scenery and beaches.
Camborne was one of the most Industrious town in the 19th. Century in the world, this was due to tin mining all around the surrounding area. Sadly the price of tin has fallen, and the last remaining tin mine “CROFTY” had to close recently, but there are still remains of many old mine engine houses around the county, and many are being restored, to preserve our heritage.
The famous Camborne School of Mines is still located here, and many of it's students are now working in the mining industry all around the world. It is said “you’ll always find a Cornish man down a mine anywhere in the world”
This web site is being developed to serve Camborne’s community providing useful information on local events and amenities. This information would also be useful to any visitor to the county.
